The importance of rest day

I know some people who never stop. They do their yoga practice 7 days a week and while they admittedly take it easier on some days than others, it’s still there – ever present in their minds. But I’ve found after doing that for a full month, taking 1 day off a week to explore other avenues of self care is just as rewarding and makes it feel like a little holiday, once a week, every week. It gives me time to appreciate my practice and just how hard it actually is.

Never stop experimenting

It’s easy to get comfortable in a routine. You let your mind get comfortable, and your body quickly follows. This is awesome if the routine involves a vigorous shake-up, healthy diet, and overall happiness. But I wouldn’t say achieving a routine of any of those things is particularly easy or can in anyway be described as ‘comfortable’.
